Join Our Board!


We’re actively recruiting new members to join our Board of Directors. To apply, please submit a cover letter and your CV to terranautclub[at] by November 26th* (extended deadline). We welcome all interested individuals to apply.

About Our Board

Our Board of Directors meets at least twice annually to make organizational and program decisions that guide Terranaut Club. Board terms are a 2-year commitment and hours are approximately 4 hours per month, with additional volunteer opportunities during our summer programs. Board members may also be elected to Officer roles including President, Treasurer, and Secretary, and are expected to serve on at least one committee. Our current Board Members have diverse experiences working and volunteering in STEM, and each bring unique skills to the team. To learn more about them, head to our Who We Are page.

Applicant Requirements

Applicants should be:

  • A woman or under-represented gender who lives in Atlantic Canada
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Able to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector background check if selected
  • Somehow connected to or involved in the fields of STEM, environmental education, non-profit management, or youth programming
  • Passionate about our mission!

The following skills are not requirements, but would be helpful. We still encourage you to apply even if you do not possess any of them.

  • Accounting/bookkeeping
  • Legal services

  • Non-profit organization or business management
  • Website development or maintenance

In your cover letter, please address: (i) your past experience (if any) working or volunteering in STEM, environmental education, programs for youth, or the non-profit sector; (ii) what skills you would bring to our Board; (iii) why you would like to join our Board; and (iv) how you would add diversity to our Board.
