Activities

Getting hands-on with marine invertebrates and microorganisms on the Wolfville mudflats, we’ll learn how to use sieves and microscopes
Coding on computers, we’ll learn how to make graphs using our invertebrate data
Getting hands-on with Atlantic salmon at a local fish hatchery, we’ll learn about saving endangered fish species
Dissecting squid, we’ll learn about invertebrate anatomy and use the ink to make paintings
Swimming and snorkeling at Lumsdens Dam
Testing water for different pollutants, we’ll learn about water pollution and chemistry
Learning about careers in marine biology and what it’s like to study marine biology at college and university

Eligibility

This program is open to girls and under-represented genders ages 9-12 who live in the Maritime provinces (NB, NS, PEI). Participants from other areas are welcome to apply for our wait list.
