The first round of nominations for our summer 2025 programs will be open from April 1 – May 9, after which they will be accepted on a rolling basis.
Eligibility
Nominees must be girls or under-represented genders between the ages of 9 – 18 who live in the Maritimes (NB, NS, PEI). Priority selection is given to nominees who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Comes from a disadvantaged background (“low income”)
- Comes from an under-represented racial background (BIPOC, or Black, Indigenous, or Person of Colour)
- Is of an under-represented gender identity (transgender, non-binary, genderfluid, and more)
- Is a first generation immigrant (immigrated to Canada)
Nominees who do not meet one of the above-listed priority criteria, but are passionate about STEM/the environment or are otherwise interested in our programs, are absolutely welcome. Please complete a nomination and note that many of our participants are in this category.
Individuals from outside the Maritime provinces are welcome to apply for seats on our waiting list.
Returning Participants
An earn-your-way-back activity is no longer required for returning participants.
Selection
To advance our organization’s mission, 50% of seats in all programs are reserved for participants who meet one or more of our priority criteria. Remaining seats are filled with participants selected by Terranaut Club Directors based on their nomination statement.
All first round nominees will be notified of our decision by e-mail around May 14th, and participants that were not selected can be placed on our waiting list if they choose. Please don’t be discouraged if you get placed on a waiting list! Between summer plans changing, illnesses, and other factors, we get quite a bit of movement on them.
